


Alan Haehnel is a prolific American playwright celebrated for his extensive contributions to youth and educational theater. Based in Hartford, Vermont, Haehnel has authored over 120 published plays, primarily one-acts, which have been performed in more than 10,000 productions worldwide. Haehnel's works are renowned for their versatility, humor, and resonance with young performers and audiences. His plays often explore themes relevant to adolescents, blending wit with insightful commentary.
In addition to his writing, Haehnel dedicated over 30 years to teaching English and theater at Hanover High School in New Hampshire and Hartford High School in Vermont. His commitment to education and the arts has earned him accolades, including the 1993 Vermont Playwright’s Award and multiple honors at the Vermont One-Act Play Festival.
